Welcome of the Board

Welcome on the website of the Dutch Club Puerto Rico!
On this website you can find information about de Dutch Club in Puerto Rico and photos and summaries of all our activities. Besides that there are also several web links available to go to website to find more information about the island and information for expats.
In a year the club organises several activities for her members. Every year Sinterklaas goes to visit the Dutch in Puerto Rico to see how they are doing. We also organise a day trip on a boat and a beach barbecue where sun, sea and beach comes first. Of course the club is also there, when Dutch movies reach the island. Every year, on invitation of our Dutch consul, we celebrate Queens Day at the Dutch consulate. We send every month an overview of all activities and events that take place on the island in which we indicate our suggestion of the month; one particular event of which we think is especially interesting to pay a visit. So keep a close look on our calendar and email.
Becoming a member of the Dutch Club is free. Just for some of our activities we ask a small contribution. Of course the Dutch Club can’t exist without her sponsors: Heineken, Robert van Hartingsveldt and Gerrit van der Bend. Hereby the board would like to thank them again for their contribution.
The board of the Dutch Club consists of four people, namely: Rob Kohler (treasurer), Ed van den Berg (secretary), Patrick van Schie (Activities) and Frederieke van Hedel (president) we will introduce us to you here below. If you think that you would like to be a member of the board as well, feel free to contact us.
Of course you can always contact us with questions about the Dutch Club and/or Puerto Rico and with suggestions to improve our activities.
Hopefully we see each other at one of our next activities!
On behalf of the Dutch Club Board,
Frederieke van Hedel
President
Dear all,
Since October 2006 I live with my husband here in Puerto Rico. I really love it here, but this is partially thanks to the Dutch Club.
From my own experience I can say that as a newcomer it’s great to get information and advice from the experts who live and work here longer. Like that you settle down easier.
Hopefully I can provide that kind of information, advice and whatever kind of help to everyone who wants/have to go to Puerto Rico. So don’t hesitate and mail me all your questions or doubts.
Hope to see you soon!

Frederieke van Hedel
President
My name is Ed van den Berg and I come from Rotterdam.
During a holiday in Puerto Rico I met my wife Ada and after 1 year of living together in Rotterdam we decided in 2004 to move to this sunny island. And until now we still like it here.
After working for years in the shipping business in Holland I am now working as a photographer in Puerto Rico. And I intend to stay here and enjoy the life on this beautiful island.

Ed van den Berg
Secretary
Hi,
I'm Patrick van Schie and I live in Puerto Rico since june 2006.
I'm employed by Heineken and I travel a lot through the Caribbean and Central America. It is nice to meet fellow Dutch men in my free time who also live in Puerto Rico and share experiences with each other. I do recommend to participate in the activities of the Dutch Club: the activities are informal and the atmosphere is relaxed.
Please feel invited to contact us if you're new in Puerto Rico or if you know Dutch people who will settle in Puerto Rico!
